A wine thermometer is a food grade floating thermometer. In making wine, temperature control is very important. If your must in the primary fermenter is too cold, fermentation will be slow or stop completely. Use the floating thermometers carefully. If the glass breaks your wine will be spoiled.
Electronic probe type thermometers are useful but can be inaccurate if you buy a cheap one. Always test one out against a good floating thermometer for accuracy.
This is the place to read about the enjoyment of winemaking. We make our own wine at home and enjoy the fruits of our labours. We also buy wine and compare ours to the store bought ones. This forum will cover many aspects of winemaking and also wine buying and food paring. Please come back often for updates.
