Wine Thief
Contrary to what you may think, a wine thief is not a friend or relative who comes over and drinks you dry. A wine thief is a hollow plastic or glass tube with a hole in each end, it is used for removing wine samples from the carboy.
Do not be tempted to use a turkey baster, especially one that's been used with gravy! Turkey basters are hard to sanitize, so stick with a proper wine thief.
